NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, dated 31 January 2011
S.C. 217 (E):- In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 3 of the Sales Promotion Employees (Conditions of Service) Act, 1976 (11 of 1976), the Central Government, having regard to the nature of the industry, the number of employees employed in such industry to do any work relating to promotion of sales or business or both, the conditions of service of such employees and such other factors which in its opinion relevant, hereby declare the following industries to be a notified for the purposes of the said Act, with effect from the date of publication of this notification in the Official Gazette, namely:-
1. Cosmetics, soaps, household cleaners and disinfectants
2. Readymade garments
3. Soft drink manufacturing industries
4. Biscuits and confectioneries
5. Ayurvedic, Unani and Homeopathic Medicines
6. Automobiles including accessories and spare parts
7. Surgical equipments, artificial prosthesis and diagnostics
8. Electronics, computers including accessories and spares
9. Electrical appliances
10. Paints and varnishes
