I think the amendment to the Workmen's Compensation Bill, including the wording of the Act and changing the name to Employees Compensation Bill provides for a removal of the ceiling. I saw the Bill, but am yet to see the notification of the Act. The changes do provide for a removal of the ceiling of Rs.4000 which pegged the limit of compensation paid particularly for those drawing more salary. Moreover, in the Act, clerical employees were also not covered. The Amendment provided for the larger coverage.
Dr. R. Krishna Murthy
Dr. R. Krishna Murthy
