This is simply superb. It is high time now that we (as an HR professionals) accept this role of union. It is equally important that these stories are published as cases studies for the consumption of HR students in management schools. It will help them create positive image of union. In absence of such positive stories, generally, recall of negative stories (like Maruti incident) is very high. Regards, Amit Karandikar - Atul Ltd.

UNITES India
Respected Sir,
Greetings!
Really inspiring activity. I hope we can replicate it.
Regards
Karthik

Dipak Gadekar [Voltas]
" The examples shared are 'exemplary". Although these seems to be 'pockets of excellence' as on date, with the kind of information channels available today these will be known to many who may see the power of this positive approach and would like to emulate the same. You are already doing a good work by sharing these and make us think 'Aisa bhi hota hain' and what can we do to be one such example? The Unions who are on this path should share this thought process with their brothers in other organisations, so should the Managements. Hopefully we should get to read different stories than the ones like Manesar."
Rgds.
Dipak

Mr PM Mantri writes:
Dear Mr. Vivek Patwardhan,

This is an excellent HR blog. The credit for such inspiring experiments has to be given to the like of Mr. Pradeep Thakare in trade unions. We are seeing, though few, IIM products not joining corporates on fat salaries but undertaking new ventures and making a mark there also. It is not, therefore, surprising that young ambitious graduates, with some exposure about new challenges in trade union field, take up to this type of work as a mission. Credit has also to be given to managements of those 2/3 units and their HR personnel in particular. Are outdated labour laws coming in their way?

It is more a question of developing positive attitude of total inter dependence which needs to be appreciated both by industry circles and trade unions. This is more possible in a place like Pune because of the basic culture of the city in the sense that trade union history there is not maligned as much as it is in Mumbai and even in Nashik. With that also, the change will spread. Can Young HR professionals be torch bearers?

With Regards,
P. M. Mantri
