I appreciate the employee friendly approach of this article. Very often than not the HR professionals take pride in reducing manpower and have found to be failed in increaing employability. They have to incline towards bring in little socialism in their organisations whiich will end disparity in the salaries n wages n endeavour to fully stop exploitation. If I am not wrong Mr Patwardhan has conveyed this message to HR professionals in a simple words.

I enjoyed reading every bit of it. A clarion call to all HR Professionals to rise beyond the mundane and self serving compulsions, and take stances to influence organisations and institutions.
Karl Marx about 100 years ago had predicted this widening wage disparity but it fell on deaf ears. We are at it again and history seems to repeat.
Let’s not take this silent revolution lightly since this time it will hit the society badly and it will be a very strong backlash. As the Bhagvat Gita says ” Paritranaya sadhunam …… dharma sansthaba…. sambhavami yuge yuge” ie when there is too much of imbalance, Lord Krishna will resurrect. This time, He too may not come.

You have asked a few bold questions to HR/IR professionals that require courage and tenacity to stuck their neck out.
Working towards greater good, when the organisation properties are not aligned, is a both a moral as well as professional challenge, quite though, like proverbial shivdhanushya.
