While the settlement at Robertshaw seem to have gone well but it doesn’t seem to be a win-win settlement. It seem to be tilted more towards the union.
The median wage is 50k pm and the starting wage for a fresher is about 30k pm which is higher than what a software engineer gets in reputed companies. It is also 3 times the minimum wage. I am not saying that minimum wage is the right amount to be offered but it’s an indicator never-the-less at least for unskilled labor rate across the country.
