Very rightly and clearly expressed. We, men are programmed not to show much of empathy from our childhood days as it is considered to be some sort of a weakness which people may try to exploit. The same thing goes in the Corporate world as well. If a budding HR/IR/ER executive shows empathetic feelings towards the workers, be it his own or contractual, he is immediately warned by his boss and put on alert with a note that the empathetic nature is likely to be exploited by the unions. So, over a period of time the newcomer evolves into a person who shows very minimum of feelings and expressions. If we need to change this it may probably take decades for the transformation. The same people who do not practice such expression of feelings at workplace, applaud when the need for the same is expressed in an open forum by a renowned personality. That is the way of life……
