Well written with full of examples.

The way the Bhandup plant of Asian Paints was closed by treating workmen and staff with respect and dignity was a high point of discussions in several management associations. Several union leaders called me to appreciate the way it was done.

Like you mentioned in another company, hereto on the last day of the closure, the workers and management organised a farewell and several workmen came up on the dais and congratulated the way they were treated and offered good compensation. Workmen and managers had a ' bada Khana together, took photographs together and hugged each other. I have tears in my eyes but of joy.
It was done so peacefully and amicably that on the next day after the closure ie on 5th May, 2014, the paanwala next to the Company gate was asking where are my customers gone?

The Management and the union took one and half years to come to a consensus but did it with elan, respect and dignity and most of all with so much love and affection.
In one of the closure speeches, one workmen said " we trust the management for a fair deal in every dialogue and transaction, that we patiently went through the discussions for more than a year. Our management will never cheat and we are sure. The lunch we had with our managers with ice creams to top it all at the end speaks volumes of the fabolous relationship that existed. Today we go out of the gates of this great organisation with so much satisfaction and pride".

Just another story to add when you speak to another universe of human beings.

Thanks for making me express this.

Sir, You have very well mentioned the role of Culture in the organizational Context.

At SRK, we truly believe that the performance & dedication of a Family Member (A term coined for our Employee) is dependent upon one's social relation with one's immediate supervisor and organization. The functioning of any company is highly reliant upon this social relation.

Once again thank you very much for quoting SRK's Reference...
