Very interesting to read.compare present times with past when there would be always unrest, violent protests, violence, closure of units. For a lay man unions mean they are there as an impediment.in present times imports of KDK is in vogue with production in our country coming down .it's important for regulations to ensure intrests of employees ( non production) ie of warehouse staff, transport, security ( mostly outsourced) is well protected.warehouse have now taken the place of factories now. ATM nirbhar initiative will bring back the olden days where imports reduce and domestic production goes up and so the IR issues too come back . may not be with similar severity as Past but they will surely come back .That is going to be a challenge for everyone.Whether it's handled the marico and Asian Paints way or Racold way will be the real challenge.

Very interesting and important points indeed. Another very interesting story is that of Ricardo Semler (Brazil) in his book Maverick which I read several decades ago but which is still very relevant. The bottom line is GENUINENESS... by all concerned - but which must be initiated and established as a fundamental element of the culture by the management. Almost all problems start when managements play games and try to break unions and deliberately encourage interpersonal conflict to try to take advantage of the strife. This is extremely short-sighted and comes home to roost at great cost. Totally unnecessary and highly avoidable.
