Loved reading it Sir. We really look at things in our own way, not necessarily in the way it actually is. Memory is also quite colored with our perspective and time. I remember things differently after a long period of time. Hence it depends - some people feel that they got more than they deserved when they look back, while others feel that they have not got what was due.

The philosophy of Destiny may dangerously go close to Astrology, the attempt of predicting future. Both are good "time pass". However we have to keep in mind that time pass becomes a habit and adversely impacts productivity of life: the thinking of the former in the old age and the letter in the young days!

Thanks for the Very nice share Sir. The debate of supremacy of destiny (fate)v/s karma(efforts) has always baffled human mind . The fact is that nobody knows about what is in store in the future. Hence Karma theory of doing one’s karma and leaving fruits to Destiny or God appears practical. The ending of your blog showing that those who believe in destiny also look at sides while crossing a road sums it all.

Good one Vivek. Yes, I do believe that I have received a lot of grace and blessings. And I do keep wondering why some others have not been the recipients of such benevolence. I have no answer of course. I remember watching a Warren Buffet interview in which he said that his success was a series of coincidences - to whom he was born, in which state in the USA, what his parents believed in, the institutions that we went to etc. So I guess, some of us are fortunate and blessed and we need to be grateful for that.

I believe that destiny is like a door. You open the door and what is on the other side is your destiny. You can even get out of that room and shut that door (most of the time) and go to another door. So in that sense we have multiple destinies which we can choose from - except that until we choose we don't know what it will be. That is why effort is necessary and so is vision and strategy.

I am inclined towards Hawking.
I live in hope that everything can be changed by human agency.
Otherwise, why live at all?
At 60, one might look back and assess what life has dished out...whether less or more or whether just what we deserved...but the future is all ours to shape at will!
