All these accounts of slavery, torture, atrocities are so disturbing! One wonders when humans will evolve to a happier, more just place from their baser nature. Being enslaved by your ‘enemy’, because of your religion, your caste, your gender, your politics…all different manifestations of intolerance and hate, but equally painful and brutal for the victim and for humankind.

I completely agree. ISIS’s actions just are not in conformity with the Prophet’s teachings is my view too.
On another note, slavery is so prevalent today in various forms and many countries do not have a law to prevent it.
The ability of man to enslave another is a cruelty of highest order, and I wonder what can be done to prevent it.

There are many other untold stories of Faridas. We talk about Inclusiveness and Gender Diversity which continue to be elusive. As long as the Humanity is Embedded with the Mind set of Dominance and Authoritarian Cult Based On Religion, Race, Colour or Caste we will continue to have stories of Faridas and George Floyds It is high time we subject ourselves to a Moral Autopsy and to find out a Vaccine to contain this Pandemic.

ISIS are criminals whose name I don’t take in the same breath as Islam and Muslims. I wrote a book refuting their opportunistic ideology which has nothing to do with Islam and which actually goes against it.

About slavery, it is alive and strong to this day in the form of human trafficking and is a multi-billion dollar global trade. Women are its chief victims but it is not restricted to women. A book I read when I was in school is Roots, by Alex Hailey. It is a book I highly recommend for anyone who wants to know something about the plight of African slaves in America.

I imagine a different challenge in writing your blog after reading this book. Justice is elusive. What makes the striving for it worth your while? Is reading the conduit to your pattern of sorrows? Just a reflection, and not a judgment here. As it is for those who read your labor of love on the blog.
