Biographies and Autobiographies are mostly glorifications and justifications; almost never will you get one written with brutal honesty. Hence it is futile to expect an honest story. So make do with what you get. If you like it, well and good, if you do not like, it move on.

Among recent autobiographies I read, I found Sanjay Manjrekar’s “Imperfect” a good read. However I found him to be extra critical of himself and also his father, the Great Vijay Manjrekar. So, there you go. Read and move on.

I am not undermining Shantaram’s achievement. But his autobiography suffers from lack of disclosure. That’s the point I made.

Sir the significance of Late Shri Shantaram Vankudre cannot be undermined.

His erstwhile Prabhat Studios is where The Film and Television Institute stands today.
