Very heartening to read about the stupendous efforts by Lemon Tree. Kudos to the management and entire team.
Close to my home a petrol pump employs individuals with hearing and speech difficulties. Although these are small steps, I think we have a long way to go, before we can truly integrate all sections in our milieu.
Thanks for sharing this inspiring article.

As always a very interesting and eye opening article Vivek. I am particularly happy to see this because as a culture we are not sensitive to handicap and suffering. A very dear friend of mine - a South African Indian and his wife who lost both her legs in an accident - told me after their trip to India that it was the least handicap friendly place that they had ever been to anywhere in the world. No wheelchair ramps, no handicap-friendly toilets and many other such things. But most of all the attitude of people who treat handicapped people as a nuisance that they are compelled to deal with. "It is like they are saying, 'Why don't you just stay home?'" To see that things are not like this, at least in Lemon Tree, is such an encouraging thing. I shall certainly make it a point of booking into Lemon Tree, only for this, the next time I am in India. Thanks for this article, once again.
