Thank you for this. I hear you say (:)) 3 lessons - listening to paraphrase, being aware of projection, and embracing the empathetic side of you. All three are so valid and applicable to me. I am so grateful for your knowledge; your ability, willingness and talent to share the knowledge effectively; and that our paths crossed so that I have access to it. Stay blessed, VSP sir!

Sorry friends, it's a long one.

Initially, something kept interfering and then I realized that with every learning you shared, I was looking at myself to see ‘where I am’ at it. So, I let it happen because that is what my being wanted to me to do.

I read the article more deliberately, noting down the coverage through the heads under which you wrote. Yes, I was keen on responding to you by doing 'some justice' I wanted to do to your opening yourself up, out there, before your audience. There was a simultaneity of processes taking place. I believe, my analytical and conceptual thinking was happening at the same time which caused the interference. At another level, I was feeling apprehensive about not being able to do the ‘some justice,’ that I was keen on doing. I felt envious of you. Ah! I want to learn the way Vivek expresses himself.

I loved your reflection done publicly and, as they popularly say, speaking from the heart. I saw a lot of you in me and vice versa. In my response to your sharing, well, I can say a lot but am conscious of my habit to ramble on and pack a lot into what I am saying. Suffice it to say, you touched me where it lingers and makes me become reflective. Just a couple of things.

We have literature for every field that is meant to help one build skills. There is literature dedicated to bringing up a child, parenting, leadership, and being an ideal partner to one’s spouse, to name just a few. One observation startled me that none of these kinds of literature talk to one another. I want to say share a couple of learning from this observation (1) Yes, it is true, though, there are a lot of commonalities in all the skills that are taught. (2) What made me feel happy with myself is when I observed that genuineness (authenticity) and empathy run through across all the different literature.
(3) I was genuinely surprised by how they train empathy (difficult to learn and teach) at Ford Motors. As a part of their soft skills program, they insist that all engineers wear what they call an “empathy belly,” walk a long distance, and drive a Ford car.
Dear VSP... thoroughly enjoyed this piece...so much to reflect abou. I was blessed with your mentoring in my formative years. I owe a lot of who I am to those invaluable learnings and experiences that you curated. I was able to see the dots converge into flowers over the years. Listening to understand... learning to paraphrase..knowing the difference between evaluating and being evaluative...wisdom encapsulated in simple words...I remain mesmerized by your articulation of life's lessons. One more opportunity to thank you.

There is a lot more that could have featured in the article. This topic is unfair for you. It is worth a book, not an article.

I always learn from all the articles you write. I read this one too with keen interest and learnt about conversations, relationships, and femininity. I am certain you have chosen these areas deliberately...

All I want to say is - I am as ever thirsty and hungry for reading, learning, more and more from your blogs. Please keep publishing. It is directional & full of life lessons for me.

Hope you are fine. Looking forward to meeting in person soon.

Warm regards to you and mam.

Thanks for the nice share. It is said that women are better communicators than men possibly due to their tender /soft heart. Importance of empathy in communication is well explained. The lessons of life from the matured author of the blog is a treat for all the readers.
Pl keep writing such nice blogs. Thanks and regards
