On the blog REBEL's very few see the light at end of tunnel as Bigrock of ruler/current reign supreme to put all its might. It reminds me of Sishupal and his 100mistakes allowed but in real life god only know how many rebel become casualties before 1 becomes Hero....Savarkar, Chaphekar lost in history and many more not even noted in history but as long as mankind survives there will be REBEL'S as they equalise not in numbers but power of Thoughg

Sorry to have been tardy with reading and commenting as I was away on my immersion course in which I got a GPA of 3.67 so I'm very pleased. Very interesting post. My addition to it is that rebels and revolutionaries don't plan for success. That creates two major problems. Their rhetoric becomes the millstone around their necks when they win and can't deliver on their promises. And they don't have a structure to run the government which their success gives them.

Rhetoric is a double edged sword because you need hyperbole to inspire people to supreme effort, even to lay down their lives. Saying, "When we succeed one generation will have to sacrifice their future so that the next generation can stand on its feet," is not very inspiring. "The streets will be paved with gold," is inspiring but won't happen. That disillusionment is the biggest danger which scuttles revolutions. Many examples of this in history and recent times. I think I wrote something about this in the South African context. Will send you if I can find it.
