Very well covered. and the address delivers the emerging pattern in IR very well, domestic & international too.
Two points here; Emotions were running very high in the speeches of Office bearers of The United Auto Workers. They used terms like poison pill by the management. What pained me the most was, and I hope the Union leadership was factually correct when the said that pre Covid T & C were not restored while CEO salaries rose multiple times.
On the Ola & Uber drivers I have a slightly different opinion: they have to realise that they are owners of their Asset and should not go aggressive with new investment unless they are sure of returns. No doubt they must be educated for this by the Financial Institutions who lend them.

Dear Vivek, A very insightful articulation of the situation today. And scary. I think this decade has to bring back focus on people. Greed, Governments, completely irrational and unacceptable wage differentials and technology have resulted in creating relationships at work being more transactional and purposeless. People have become just economic cogs, especially in the manufacturing and the unorganized service sectors which are growing. And AI is adding to that. I am afraid that our "demographic dividend" may land up as a "demographic problem" as jobs at lower levels start disappearing. Can we imagine the social issues that would arise? This is completely unacceptable. We must bring people back as the centre piece of all human endeavours.

I agree with you, Prasad. At least, teachers and assistant professors should not be hired on a contract basis. This will prevent good teachers from entering the field, as they lack social security. In Germany, highly paid professions include teaching and professorship. If we do not make changes in our country, we will not see good teachers for our children.
