Sir, your commitment to bringing out the harsh realities faced by the ignored sections is truly incomparable. The truth remains blatant ,the divide between capitalists and deprived workers continues to widen, and your posts highlight this with clarity and courage. They leave me reflecting deeply, almost as a mute spectator, absorbing the gravity of what is shared. It is a reminder that governance, responsibility, and ethical leadership must stand at the forefront if we are to bridge this divide and create a more equitable future.

You have been persistently bringing forth the injustices of employers. You are doing a great work. The government is pro employers as that is where the money comes from. The workmen in organised as well as unorganised sectors and the general citizens are taken for a long ride like the religious babas do. Sadly, the managements consisting of educated class too succumbs to babas. How will the situation change?

I fully endorse your view that workers aspiration has increased and rightly so by observing & experiencing the life style environment. I send that either the business mend its way or it get reactively, in very near future. IR will be a challenge even with corrupt officials.

Additionally, the Public sector enterprises need to be cleaned up first. A can of worms under Labour laws is waiting to be opened out

Yes Sir. I get what you mean. I dealt with communist labour unions in Guyana (GMWU - Guyana Mineworkers Union) and CPM-CITU unions in Tamilnadu/Kerala for 16 years. I can tell you that the saddest thing that happened was the complete edentulism (means extracting all teeth - discovered this word today) leading to near death of the trade union movement. I know that unions made life difficult for managements, but then, that is why they exist. And when that bridle is taken out of the mouth of the management horse, the result is open exploitation of workers. Even today, there is some semblance of collective bargaining and action in manufacturing, but there is not even the pretense of it, or any union activity, in blue collar jobs, particularly in the IT/ITES companies. Saying the word 'union' aloud is enough to find yourself sitting on the pavement in a flash. Which explains what is happening in these companies today where thousands of people are being mercilessly sacked. Unions are critical in all industries. Naturally union leaders also need to be educated in functioning in a productive, collaborative manner and not just be obstructive. I have some very interesting stories of how I managed that in the plantation industry in Tamilnadu/Kerala, which I will be happy to share some time.

The economics is lop sided.

This morning I read about a serious accident in a factory in Virudhanagar,Madurai, where several lives were lost. Unfortunately, these keep happening.Compensation is doled out followed by an eerie silence.
Noida violence will be quelled professionally again by offering some more increase. Peace will be bought.

Like Manoj Joseph today has written an article with a title " No poverty does not turn people into violent criminals".
He has mentioned that the labour is more concerned about his peers earning more than them, not the rich. In fact, this inequality between the rich and the poor gives the poor labour the required security, and an opportunity to raise their voice and vent their feelings whenever they see injustice.

I agree Vivek. Every day there are accidents reported in the newspapers. Those who die are women. Mere numbers. Where is the governance and accountability? Can Rs. 10000 really be a minimum wage today? That too for years? It is deliberate exploitation. All in the name of encouraging growth.
