The Thane HR Group is organizing a Conference on December 19 at Thane.

But if you are thinking that this post is about the conference it would not be correct to say so. This post is about some unique experiences that we, as organizers, have had so far taking forward this unique activity.

Let me explain. We organize ‘Lecture sessions’ for HR fraternity. Can you imagine how many belong to the HR tribe in Thane? Over 400! That was a big discovery!! This large number of HR Managers offers a lot of opportunities.

We began by organizing programs which were open to all, and FREE! The first hurdle was about the venue for meeting and also the problem was who will pick up the refreshment expenses. Voltas graciously offered use of their facility and also played a great host. Thanks Mr. Anil Gole. This was the take off point for us.

We then organized the activity at two levels: One which is open for all free of cost, and the other which is exclusively for HR Managers with 15+ years of experience. The latter was by invitation.

At the open program Mr Mantri, Mr. Vikas Shirodkar, Mr. Bijay Sahoo, Dr. Anand Nadkarni and Mr. Deepak Satavlekar addressed the 100+ Hr Professionals. At the ‘By invitation’ meetings, Sanjay Agarwal of KPMG, R Sankar of PwC, Mr. Jatin DeSai who is a renowned consultant based in USA addressed the forum. Moreover Accenture took lead and hosted a session at their Vikhroli office. Thanks to all of them. We found sponsors in Jupiter Hospital, in Voltas and in a few other organizations.

All this for ‘no-cost’! Isn’t that great?

So we are undertaking more ambitious activity. We are organizing HR conference on December 19 at Thane’s newest Hotel United 21.

Confirmed speakers include: Mr. Bijay Sahoo, Chief People Officer – Reliance Retail, Mr. Ulhas Deshpande, CEO- IntelleCash Microfinance Network, Dr Aneeta Madhok, Director – Open Spaces Consulting Pvt. Ltd, Dr. Krishnamurthy, Director – Industrial Relations Institute of India and Capt Girish Kaushik, President – National Aviators Guild.

Mr. Sandeep Nair, President & Managing Director – Emerson Network Power India Pvt. Ltd. will deliver the inaugural address.

The charges are Rs. 883 for participants and Rs. 607 for student delegates. This will cover our cost of organizing the conference. And given the eminent persons who are going to address the conference, it will be a great opportunity to broaden one’s perspective at such a low cost.

Anil Kshtriya was the one who started the Thane HR Group and it was revitalized by all of us again in last December. Anil continues to provide all administrative support without any commercial interest.
