My Photo Journal Sept 2026
Returning to this series after a gap of three months. Consistency is not my strength. Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds.” Some solace in his words.
Let me present my photographs taken between June to September 2026.
On my morning walks, my eyes search for something I could click. These are moments which vanish faster than spirit or alcohol. And I click, click, click.
Having spent my career working in factories, such scenes immediately attract my attention. This is precarious work. Unsafe at every level.
And I find it difficult to take my eyes off this photograph. A faithful and alert dog, a vacant swivel chair symbolic of authority, with a ‘No Entry’ tape fallen on the ground, a dilapidated structure, and building and construction activity behind the raised wall of white and dark ‘curtain.’ Does this define our world today?
They say that light enters through a crack. Rumi says, with great insight, that ‘The wound is the place where the light enters you.’ Architects seem to have taken it literally.
And a young boy modelled for his sketch. That is the only time boys of his age sit patiently and quietly.
Here a lady, must be a TV camera-person, held camera to capture the reactions of audience during a cricket match. Candid photos are not beautiful, because they do not capture ‘perfect moments’; they capture just “beautiful moments.”
And while walking on the high street this woman found an elephant near her. With a big rabbit in attendance. Her reaction was inimitable. Fear, Surprise and amusement.
Similarly, a group of tourists at Piccadilly square. Excited. All attention and ears to the guide.
Men and women make great models. But no match to the cats and kittens. They look innocent, curious and attentive.
And finally, photography is all about emotions. Like poetry. And novels. And like any other art form. Seeing life as an artist’s canvas gives interesting insights.
What do you say?

Beautiful well captured with an eye for details. Lovely quotes too.
Keep going, Sir
Beautiful moments captured; yes, need not be perfect moments.
Beautifully captured Vivek. Somehow there seems to be greater beauty in the black and white photos. The shades become more evident even though we think of black and white as two extremes. I guess that is a reflection of life too. Whereas the colours provide different shades and hues. The the fact that in India, safety is taken very lightly. Human lives are cheap!!!
