Some thoughts and some feelings, all mine:
Like Indians have never watched their Prime Minister’s foreign visit with such curiosity and interest.
Like I have always wondered why our PMs meet children in other countries; one possible answer till rise of Modi could have been that it was the only group they could have influenced.
Like the happy development is that Supreme Court has directed Prime Minister and Chief Ministers not to induct any charge-sheeted person as Minister; and the sad development is that it takes Supreme Court to order it and not the conscience of leaders.
Like it is surprising that one man can move the juggernaut of the Government of India single handedly. And he is setting a tough benchmark for his successors, good luck to them!
Like Modi Government has sacked Governors and now is the turn of Independent Directors of PSUs. He seems to feel that all people at the helm of affairs must be changed to make an organisation work, and that is a popular yet a dangerous assumption.
Like Scyld Berry’s column in The Telegraph is as interesting to read as watching the ODIs in cricket. The latest on the third ODI begins by “England and India returned to the scene of the non-crime at Trent Bridge where James Anderson and Ravi Jadeja clashed in the pavilion” and goes on to say “Rayudu had also bowled a few off-breaks, like the occasional wicketkeeper that he is, but that was obviously more than enough to take an England wicket.”
Like ‘Poshter Boyz’, a Marathi movie is perhaps the only hilarious situational comedy in decades, and a good film to watch. We were bored and irritated by antics of Laxmikant Berde, Ashok Saraf et al.
Like a sales person labelled Micromax as ‘poor man’s Apple.’ And I agree.
Like do you remember when you heard of Vijay Mallya last? I wonder if his travails will make whisky cheaper.
And finally this: It remains to be seen who dumps the other first: whether Virat Kohli dumps Anushka or Dhoni does it to Virat; and I hope it is only the latter.
